JSON Compare & Diff
Paste two JSON documents to see what actually changed. Key order and formatting are ignored, so you only see real differences, each with its exact path.
How it works
Both sides are parsed and walked together. Objects are compared key by key regardless of order; arrays are compared index by index, because array order is meaningful in JSON.
A value whose type changed (the string "1" versus the number 1) is reported as a change, since most APIs treat them differently.
Everything above runs in JavaScript inside this tab. Your data is not uploaded. Inputs are remembered in this browser only so they survive a reload; you can switch that off on the privacy page.
Questions
Does key order matter?
No. RFC 8259 defines objects as unordered, so {"a":1,"b":2} and {"b":2,"a":1} are equal here.
Can I ignore array order?
Enable "arrays as sets" to match array items regardless of position, useful for lists of tags or IDs.
